Human Factors Insight was established with the mission of making human factors more accessible to medical device and pharmaceutical companies of any size by providing accessible and cost-effective services, thereby ensuring safe, effective, and user-friendly products for the healthcare industry.

We apply our knowledge of human factors research design principles to help make medical devices safer, more effective, and appealing. We have extensive experience ensuring compliance with international standards and notified bodies including ANSI / AAMI / IEC 62366-1, ISO 14971, MDR, NMPA, and FDA’s guidance on Human Factors Engineering (HFE).

Human Factors Insight is located in Utrecht, The Netherlands and is run by Sheldon Pijpers, a leading human factors engineer in the field of medical device human factors and usability engineering. As part of his senior roles at previous HFE consultancies, Sheldon has organized, managed, and conducted numerous human factors activities on a global level.
